the Napasol Rotosol Pasteuriser investment allows us to offer an additional layer of food safety that customers are now requiring

Voicevale has validated its Napasol Rotosol line in Ipswich, UK, for the pasteurisation of Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, Chia Seeds, Quinoa seeds, Linseeds, and Poppy seeds. The Napasol Rotosol unit offers easy loading and unloading of the free-flowing seeds without the need to dry thanks to the saturated steam process. With this investment the company ensures its customers receive safe and high-quality seeds.
This investment opens new markets to Voicevale with customers from all sectors of the food industry that now require their suppliers to offer pasteurised seeds. In addition to the superior microbiological reduction performance that the Napasol process delivers, >5log Salmonella reduction, the Rotosol’ s unique design provides a continuous gentle blending motion of the seeds that ensures the seeds get homogeneously treated and remain free flowing.
The Napasol Rotosol pasteuriser is a rotating autoclave where, once loaded in the vessel, seeds are continuously blending with dry saturated steam. The batch process treats the material in a partial vacuum maintaining the saturated steam efficiency at temperatures below 100°C, thus protecting seeds from unnecessary heat. The heated autoclave jacket walls prevent condensation, help maintain saturated steam conditions, and allow the pasteurised load to exit the autoclave dry. This is an important feature for difficult seeds that clump on contact with water.
Roby Danon, founder and Managing director of Voicevale Ltd states that “the Napasol Rotosol Pasteuriser investment allows us to offer an additional layer of food safety that customers are now requiring” and “the addition of Pasteurise Ltd to our companies opens Voicevale’s scope of supply and access to new markets”.

Napasol AG, Zug, Switzerland, sells its Pasteurisation equipment worldwide for nuts, seeds, herbs, spices and other low moisture foods applications. In the seeds industry, it has validated processing lines with customers pasteurising Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, Linseeds, Chia, Poppy, Quinoa seeds, and different grains, to the >5-log Salmonella reduction standard widely required by retailers and the food industry. Seeds are pasteurised on both the Statisol and Rotosol pasteuriser models it offers but the latter offers clear logistic advantages for loading and unloading of these free-flowing products. Dr. Cameon Ivarsson, COO of Napasol says “the Rotosol is a unique solution for difficult to pasteurise seeds and powders because it keeps the load in motion during the pasteurisation. It is one of our most popular machines”.
